Woodford has been awarded the Incorporated Society of Musicians’ Bronze certificate in GCSE music.

This means that more than 10% of all its GCSE students took Music GCSE and achieved an A*- C in 2016, putting the school in the top 649 schools nationally.

Miss Hasler, Head of Music, said: ‘We are very proud to have been awarded this accolade. Music students at Woodford have long achieved the highest grades, and our increased uptake in this subject at GCSE has enabled us to gain national recognition for this. Hundreds of students across the school are involved in musical clubs, ensembles and concerts on a regular basis, and we look forward to even more of them furthering their learning in Music through taking GCSE and A Level in future.’

As the professional body for musicians, we are delighted to recognise this high level of achievement with this certificate.’

The certificate is supported by the ISM Trust (www.ismtrust.org), the charitable arm of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. The Trust was created in 2015 to promote and support music education and music itself.
