The end of the spring term saw a group of Woodford History students undertake the school’s first visit to Washington DC.

This was to be an exciting opportunity to expand upon and enrich knowledge gained in the classroom. Woodford girls spent three full days exploring the political and historical geography of the one of the world’s most important cities. Highlights of the trip included a visit to the US Supreme Court and the Library of Congress. There were also chances to explore memorials to the US’s most distinguished Presidents such as Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Delano Roosevelt as well as the hugely impressive new memorial to Martin Luther King.
