Tatjana (Year 12) has been awarded a prestigious Arkwright Scholarship.

Woodford’s First Arkwright Scholar

Tatjana (Year 12) has been awarded a prestigious Arkwright Scholarship.  In Year 11 she successfully navigated both the application process and a competitive selection day.  She learned in August that she’d been successful and that her scholarship is being sponsored by the Northrop Grumman Corporation.  She and her parents will attend the Award Ceremony later this term.

In addition to the £600 financial award, the scholarship provides Tatjana with a professional mentor and gives her access to a range of enrichment activities.  Importantly it also enables her to apply in due course for an Arkwright Undergraduate Scholarship, available exclusively to Arkwright Engineering scholars.  These substantial awards support study on undergraduate degrees in Engineering or Technical Design.

Tatjana, who completed work experience with Kier Construction this summer, aspires to a career in Engineering, a field where women remain under represented.  We congratulate her on this very significant award.
