    FRENCH

    INTRODUCTION

Skill in a modern foreign language is essential for all young people and the tasks set for study are designed to enable them to cope successfully with situations met in encounters with French speakers on visits to France and French-speaking countries, and also in the workplace. No matter which career you choose, the ability to converse and to
negotiate in another language will be regarded as an obvious basic skill. The awareness of other cultures and a European consciousness, developed through modern language study, are also valued by Employers.
