Woodford County High School for girls is a Grammar School and as such places are allocated using the results of an 11+ selection test taken by pupils. Student living in the Common Catchment Area have priority in the allocation of places.
You will be required to provide proof of address and proof of date of birth.
Check the website for details.
For students who have scored over the pass mark, priority for places will be as follows:
http://www.redbridge.gov.uk/map/11-common-catchment-area
Where there is more than one such candidate with the same score, the tie-break will be the shortest measured walking distance, as measured by a Geographic Information System, from the child's home to the main entrance of the school [using public roads and recognised footpaths (it should be noted that when measurements involve flats in the same block, the distance will be to the entrance of each individual flat)]. In using distance as a tie-breaker, should there be more than one applicant for a final place living an identical distance from the school in question, the Authority will use the random allocation facility within the Tribal “Admissions and Transfers System” pupil database which is used for allocations.
There will be a “pass mark” and no one scoring lower than the pass mark will be added to the waiting list.
When a vacancy arises on the waiting list, it will be offered to the next highest qualifying candidate according to the total standardised score in overall order of merit, following the over subscription criteria as detailed above. Where there is more than one such candidate with the same score, the tie-break will be the shortest measured walking distance, as measured by a Geographic Information System.
