Actual Salary:  £28,075 - £28,970 per annum

Full-time salary:  £32,925 to £33,957 per annum pro rata

Sought from September 2024, an enthusiastic and committed SEND Officer, keen to work with young people to support the needs of our SEND students, whilst supporting their wellbeing. Working collaboratively with the SENDCO and wider wellbeing team, this is a rewarding role whereby the person appointed will have the confidence and experience to deal kindly but firmly with young people, recognising varying needs and exercising judgement in making decisions whilst supporting them in achieving their goals.    The ability to maintain a high level of professional confidentiality is a prerequisite.  

This will be a varied role, comprising, but not confined to:

  • Providing learning support (e.g. monitoring, mentoring and classroom support) to students with SEND across all 3 Key Stages
  • Promoting inclusive teaching approaches and agreed strategies for individual SEND students to teaching colleagues
  • Liaising with colleagues  / parents / outside agencies as appropriate to provide ongoing support to students with SEND
  • Supporting and directing colleagues in one to one support of SEMH students as necessary
  • Liaising with colleagues  / parents / outside agencies as appropriate to provide ongoing support to students with SEND
  • Devising / advising on pastoral or extra-curricular provision to support broader needs of SEND students
  • Providing administrative, system and technical support to the SENDCO

Previous experience of working in a public service environment (social work/education) in a similar role is highly desirable.
